Harry Kane has become the all-time top scorer for Tottenham after helping them beat Man City in Premier League Round 22. He scored the only goal in Tottenham's 1-0 victory in the 15th minute, breaking a 53-year record held by legendary Jimmy Graves, who previously held the record for scoring 266 goals for "The Spurs." (Kane now has his 267th goal).
The match between Tottenham and Man City is considered the highlight of round 22 of the English Premier League. While Man City is second in the standings and determined to add another win to keep pace with table leaders Arsenal, Tottenham is also ranked 5th. Furthermore, the match features a showdown between two of the league's top scorers, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.
However, Haaland was disappointing and virtually "missing" throughout the game. On the other hand, Harry Kane shone when his teammates created a chance for him in the 15th minute.
The highlight of the match was Harry Kane's 267th goal, making him the all-time leading scorer for Tottenham and breaking the 53-year-old record of legend Jimmy Greaves. This goal also made Harry Kane the third player to reach 200 goals in the Premier League, after Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney.
"It's hard to put into words and I'm so glad it [the record-breaking goal] came in a win," Kane said of his only goal in the victory over Manchester City.
"We worked so hard to keep a clean sheet. It was so special to do it in front of the fans. There has been so much talk about it in the last couple of weeks and to do it in such a big game is even more special.
"It is a great feeling. When I started playing regularly it wasn't even in my imagination to score 200 Premier League goals and I have a few more years left so hopefully there are more to come.
