The official website of Chelsea Football Club has announced the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk, who will join the London-based team with a transfer fee estimated at 100 million euros.
After a long period of speculation, the future of Mykhailo Mudryk has been determined. The Ukrainian player will join Chelsea with a transfer fee of 70 million euros, plus an additional 30 million euros, with a contract length of 8.5 years.
Chelsea has outdone themselves in this deal and beat out competition from Arsenal, who had also been interested in Mudryk for some time, but Chelsea was able to make significant progress in negotiations and successfully complete the transfer.
"I'm so happy to sign for Chelsea," Mudryk said.
"This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I'm excited to meet my new team-mates and I'm looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff."
"We are delighted to welcome Mykhailo to Chelsea. He's a hugely exciting talent who we believe will be a terrific addition to our squad both now and in the years to come. He will add further depth to our attack and we know he'll get a very warm welcome to London." Todd Boehly said.
Mudryk was born on January 5, 2001, in Krasnohrad, Ukraine. He began his youth career at Shakhtar Donetsk in 2016. In 2018, he made his debut for the club in a match against Olimpik Donetsk in the Ukrainian National Cup. Mudryk has 44 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk, scoring 12 goals and creating 6 other goals. At the national level, Mykhaylo Mudryk first joined the Ukraine national team in April 2022. Since then, the 21-year-old forward has played in 8 matches but has not scored any goals yet.
Mudryk made his debut at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old midfielder wore the Ukrainian flag and greeted the audience before the match between Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
Mudryk is a winger who can score well. He has contributed to 18 goals in 18 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk this season, including three goals and two assists in the Champions League group stage.
