Jim Ratcliffe prepares to make a second bid to purchase Man Utd

On March 16th, a Qatari delegation visited Old Trafford to hold talks with Manchester United executives. The next day, British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe met with the club's leaders. These are the two most likely potential buyers if Manchester United changes ownership.

According to Sky Sports sources, Sheikh Jassim believes it is still too early for him to visit Old Trafford in person. Therefore, the Qatari billionaire has sent a team of experts in various fields such as banking, finance, real estate, and law. The purpose of this visit is to explore what they can do with their investment in infrastructure, the development of youth academies, and the club's women's team.

Sheikh Jassim's representatives traveled by train to Manchester and were warmly welcomed. Negotiations lasted for 10 hours, longer than expected. The meeting between the Qatari delegation and Manchester United resulted in a positive outcome.

The Glazers believe that Manchester United is worth at least $7.36 billion, which is much higher than Sheikh Jassim's initial offer of around $5.5 billion. Initially, the Qatari billionaire did not want to spend too much money to buy the English club. However, his views have changed since the Qatari delegation visited Old Trafford. Sheikh Jassim will submit a second bid to buy the Old Trafford club on March 22nd.

Ratcliffe is also said to want to submit a second bid to the Glazers after his visit to the club on March 17th. The INEOS company delegation, led by the 70-year-old billionaire, held talks with Manchester United executives for six hours at Old Trafford and Carrington before leaving at 4 pm London time. They did not comment and wanted to analyze the information received from Manchester United before making a second bid.

Ratcliffe flew from Nice, France to Manchester to meet with Manchester United leaders. He even took a photo outside Old Trafford, unlike Sheikh Jassim, who wanted to remain anonymous.
